FROM THE OFFICE

The Christmas Dinner Dance on Saturday 15th December was an overwhelming success, thank you to everyone who supported this and said such lovely things after the event.

We are indebted to Shuna Wickham for coming up with the idea coupled with the courage and determination to see it through, there was nothing she didn’t turn her hand to ensure the evening was a success.

She was ably assisted by Angela Thomson, who performed miracles with the back room; turning it into a winter wonderland with help of Nigel Thomson. John Taylor who provided the delicious and filling main course, assisted by Benedicte Mermet, Tim Wadeson and Jackie Underwood with their preparation of the vegetables. Shuna dealt with the starters and was assisted in the assembly of them by Jeanette. Shuna also sourced the desserts. Catherine Kilhams, Laura Mermet, Jeanette and Nigel Grant helped set tables. Nigel Grant sourced and delivered the wine along with the extra glasses. He also provided the Champagne reception. The sommelier for the start of the evening was Ian Taylor

Sophie Bown, Lydia Barton, Bex Taylor, Laura Mermet, Katie Booth, Lolly Besser, Tom Porteous and George Wickham were fantastic waiting staffs who were thrilled with the appreciation shown to them on the night. Miriam and Pippa ran the bar expertly as we have come to expect from them.

And on Sunday the clearing up……….. Shuna, Nigel G, Catherine, Nick, Angela Nigel T, Jeanette and Derek Thorpe a thankless task well done.

This event sold out within 2 weeks of being advertised, so be sure to book early for the next one.
