FROM THE OFFICE
Visitor Fees
Again we need to remind members of their responsibility for paying for their
guests. Those who do not bother are denying the club valuable income. If you
are bringing a guest you will also need to bring, in change, £2.50 x 1 for
juniors or £2.50 x 2 for adults to purchase stamps in the club foyer to
stick into the Visitors book alongside your guest’s details.
Dogs
We would ask that if you bring your dogs along to the club that you keep
them tied up outside and do not bring them into the clubhouse, thank you.
Language
We have received complaints regarding the use of foul language. Please do
not use foul language anywhere on the club grounds as it may cause offence
to others.
Saturday 29th September is New Member’s Day
The General Committee has extended an invitation to all members who have
joined in the last 12 months, to come along to the club from 12pm. We would
like as many members as possible to attend this event to make our New
Members feel welcome. There will be activities for the juniors from 12pm til
2pm followed by Tennis Social and a Squash Social for adults. From 4pm we
are hosting a showcase Tennis Mens Doubles Tournament – Nick Fulwood and
Jeremy Bates return to the club to remind us how to play. Refreshments are
available all afternoon. If anyone would like to help sponsor this day (we
are a registered charity after all) please contact the office.
Saturday 15th December Christmas Function
The social committee have come up with the idea of a Christmas function at
the club on this date. This is in addition to John Taylor’s annual mince
pies and mulled wine fest. We are looking to members to commit to this
financially by the end of October, to get things in place before we all get
busy with Christmas. We want member feedback about this; please reply to
this email.
A) Are you willing to commit that early?
B) Do you want a cheap night out with homemade food and Christmas Music?
C) Will you pay extra to get a disco or band, marquee and caterers?

Court Availability
We are now utilising the computerised booking system to show tennis court
availability. Specific courts will be booked out for all club activities and
home matches against other clubs. You can view the bookings on the terminal
in the club foyer or via the club website. You do not have to log on to the
system or set up passwords to look at the court availability. This will
benefit the members, in that they can see if courts are available before
fixing up league matches or friendlies and can see what is happening at the
club.
