Refurbishment Appeal
The 2nd phase of the clubhouse refurbishment was completed on Friday
7th November. I am sure you all agree that the work has been worthwhile. In
order to furnish the clubhouse and start on phase 3 of the work, we need to
raise additional funds. You will have received by post a letter and leaflet
with details. Thank you to the members who have sent back their donation
forms so promptly. If you've lost the form sent to you, there are plenty on
the notice board in the club foyer.

New Changing Rooms, Showers & Toilets
The building works to the changing rooms and
toilets were completed
Friday 26th Sep 2008. The entry hall will be completed asap and works on
the bar area will begin early October 2008.

The General Committee are pleased to advise that the refurbishment of the
male and female changing rooms, toilets, installation of a new kitchen and
improvement to the foyer area are expected to be completed by the end of
September. Unfortunately slight delays were caused in order that we fully
met the requirements of the Building Inspector.
In October the builders will be completing the works to the bar area,
including, removing the old kitchen and the pillars, and installing a large
opening door overlooking the tennis courts.
Your continued patience and understanding is much appreciated and the
Committee is sure that the new facilities will greatly enhance enjoyment of
RLTSC for all of us.

Radlett Refurbishment Update July 2008
Members will be pleased to hear that phase 1 of the building work has
been progressing well and that the first fix is now complete. The plastering
work is being done at the moment, and this will be followed by the
installation of toilet and shower fittings, along with the new kitchen.
The hallway has been opened up by the removal of the old lights cupboard and
relocation of the electrical floodlight controls, which will make a huge
difference to the first impression given when entering the clubhouse.
There have been issues brought up by the local buildings inspector, mainly
involving the insulation of the roof, and these have led to minor delays.
However the project is still running to budget, which is extremely important
considering how tight the finances are. We are extremely grateful to Roy
Darby, the architect, for his work in keeping the costs down, and to Neil
and the specialist contractors for their continued commitment.
The work on phase 2, concerning the bar area,
will not start before the RLTSC Junior Open Tournament takes place from
18-22 August, because of the need for a working kitchen during that week.
Once the new kitchen and changing rooms are up and running, then the work
will continue in the bar to remove the pillar, enlarge the door openings,
and remove the old kitchen. This phase still depends on phase 1 being
completed within the budget.
We would like to thank all members for your support, and hope that this will
continue into the future.
With best wishes,
The General Committee.
