Herts County Championships 2009
U-9 and U-11 (September 12th )

Radlett Squash Club hosted this year’s competition and attracted an excellent turn-out
with 42 juniors enjoying a Saturday morning’s squash. In the early stages the boys and girls took part in mini-leagues with the top two going through to the knockout stages. Congratulations to all those who took part. All the matches were played in the right spirit with many juniors marking a match for the first time.

Dear Player,
I hope you have all enjoyed the recent season and congratulations to all those who have enjoyed individual or team success. Many Radlett juniors have done well in local, county and national events and it is great to see so many involved in the Radlett adult leagues and playing in the Herts leagues. Ten Radlett juniors have represented Herts in county matches. Many new players have joined the club in the course of the season and thanks go to the regulars for welcoming them. Although the season has only recently finished and you are no doubt about to enjoy the Summer holidays, it’s not long before the 2009-10 season. There are holiday courses in July and August with a Charity Graded tournament on Sept 20th and our regular Sunday sessions resume on Sept 6th. Don’t forget that the County Championships are in September and October, and Radlett will again be hosting the U-9s and U-11s on Sept 12th. As the initial county rankings next season are based on the county championship results, please try to a) keep the dates free and b) be on form when September arrives!! All the details of events up to Christmas appear later in this newsletter.

 There were 5 Graded Tournaments last season with a raffle at the end of each to raise money for the nearby Lemarie Centre( Mencap) Toy Library. Since the Junior Club began in Sept 2002, we have held 29 graded events and raised £ 2102 for this worthwhile cause …..thanks go to all those who have played, donated prizes and bought tickets!!! 2. OTHER INFORMATION

 CLUB MEMBERSHIP. Juniors (after a few Sunday trial sessions) have to become members of the Radlett Squash Club. Sunday sessions are £ 5 for members, £ 7 non-members. While we are delighted to welcome players from other clubs for the graded tournaments and for team matches, we would remind those attending on a regular basis to join the club!!
 Footwear – Please remember to change into clean non-marking squash shoes when you arrive at the club
 Club Polo-shirts are priced at £ 12 and available from Julian . These shirts are sky blue with navy trim and available in all 6 sizes… age 7/8, .age9/10, age11/12, small(adult), medium(adult) and large (adult ) .Titan rackets as well as safety glasses at a discounted price are also in stock, and available for you to try for a week or so without obligation to buy.
