Radlett Juniors 1st Season in Herts Summer League 2007
The story so far.
It’s been a fairly bright start by the juniors. After 4 matches, only one
match has been lost and opposing teams appear pleased to pit their talents
against our up and coming stars.

Jemma (2 dots) Ockwell has started very well and, as long as the correct
ball is being used, eventually grinds the opposition into submission. Her
disciplined and precise approach to the game is good to watch and she is
able to take advice between games. Very refreshing!!
Luke (cool hand) Stewart is, as the nickname suggests, a cool customer and
belies his age by showing little emotion while playing. His ability to
adjust quickly to the varying styles experienced so far has been key to
maintaining his 100% success rate.
Jack (McEnroe) Fowler has so far lost only one game and when in the mood can
surprise with his resilience on court. While playing Harlow he had to
overcome breaking two racket strings and continue with a borrowed racket.
Normally these events would have given Jack the excuse to derail, but in
this instance, proved inconsequential and he still won.
I suspect that any leniency shown up to this point by opposing teams will
evaporate on the return legs. However if their confidence continues to grow,
there should be some interesting games to come.
Big thanks to Jeanette and Derek sorting out the courts and dealing with the
administration.
Rob Fowler, Team Captain.
