Radlett vs Dunstable Friendly Match
Match report Feb 2009
Roger our wily No 1 was first into battle against the
Dunstable destroyer, went to 5 games with the big lad narrowly claiming
victory although came at a price as he took an early bath, next your Cap'n
played the most graceful mesmerising squash to level the tie at one all, our
esteemed Chairman was next up and dazzled his opponent with his rather
controversial attire for Radlett to take a 2-1 lead, the crowd were on their
feet as Mark stepped up but unfortunately met an opponent whose knowledge of
the 'let' rule was second to none, (he later asked me for a stroke when I
accidentally obstructed him taking the garlic bread), and we were back to
all square. Tim next and another epic battle played in great spirit but a
loss to go down 3-2, and so with the light fading and the the aroma of
chilli wafting through the courts all attention turned to the fashionably
bearded Nigel who, always the entertainer, dug deep in his match and after
another 5 game thriller..... er.. lost.
So 4-2 loss but a good time was had by all, Dunstable keen to do it again
later in the year so if you're up for it let me know.
Thanks for turning up Chaps and your messages of thanks all much appreciated
